this blatche-fajardo combo is really worth trying. at the end of the day, we may just ponder what could have happened in the end game or ponder why: “it is better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all”?. but blatche-fajardo tandem worked wonders against senegal. and this present system “dribble-drive offense/”playing small” did not work at all. putting premium on speed may be applicable to NBA players who, though not so tall, have the skills more than that of a seven footer. but NBA players are not PBA players. thus, for gilas, it is safe to put premium on speed without compromising height (at least for 2 players – blatche and fajardo). thanks
My own Gilas 4.0 players’ assessment: Bust – 1. Marc Pingris 2. Ryan Reyes (Abueva should have had his slot)… Semi-Bust – Jun Mar Fajardo, Ray Parks, TOTAL BUST – 1. Ranidel de Ocampo 2. Japeth Aguilar…. BEST PERFORMERS – 1. Terence Romeo. 2. Andray Blatche 3. Jason Williams 4. Jeff Chan 5. Gabe Norwood… 6. Troy Rosario. Blatche was beaten by the consistent, outstanding show of Romeo because of Andray’s numerous STUPID DRIBBLING IN TRAFFIC ERRORS! Those miscues cost the Gilas game against France and New Zealand. Blatche should do away with that crazy, stupid dribbling in traffic in international tournaments. Won’t work against world class players.
