FIBA released a new video about Gilas Pilipinas and posted a question “A 6th FIBA Asia Championship title for the Philippines at #FIBAAsia2015?”
This means Philippines already won the Gold Medal in the FIBA Asia Championship 5 times, the tournament was previously called Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Championship and was inaugurated in Manila in 1960.

Gilas Pilipinas 24-man roster for FIBA Asia Championship
The Philippines already submitted the 24-man roster for the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship yesterday, the Gilas Pilipinas roster includes Marcus Douthit, Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, LA Tenorio, Ranidel de Ocampo, Larry Fonacier, Gabe Norwood, Gary David, Marc Pingris, June Mar Fajardo, Jeff Chan, Japeth Aguilar, Beau Belga, Sonny Thoss, Greg Slaughter, Garvo Lanete, Jake Pascual, Ronald Pascual, R. R. Garcia, Matt Ganuelas, Kevin Alas, Ryan Reyes, Kelly Williams and Jared Dillinger.
The final 12-man lineup for the FIBA Asia Championship on August 1-11, 2013 will be named on July 12 and only players from the 24-man roster can be included in the final Gilas Pilipinas roster.

PBA moves 3rd conference for FIBA Asia Championship
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Board has approved to move the PBA Governors Cup to pave way for the Training of our Philippine National Basketball Team, Gilas Pilipinas. The PBA 3rd conference will now be held from August to October 2013 instead of May to July 2013. Two full months of preparation for Gilas Pilipinas plus Monday training after announcement of line-up.
The FIBA Asia Championship will be held from August 1 to 11, 2013 and will be hosted here in the Philippines. Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes will announce the FIBA Asia Championship roster on Thursday.

One PBA Player per team on Gilas Pilipinas
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Board has approved to lend at least 1 PBA player per team for the Gilas Pilipinas National Basketball Team that will compete in the FIBA Asia Championship this August 2013. The only sure player for that team is Naturalized-player, Marcus Douthit. But it is still the decision of Coach Chot Reyes who will make the final lineup.
