Alapag In, Castro Out of Asian Games Line-up
Jimmy Alapag has agreed to extend his National Team participation as he is set to replace the injured Jayson Castro in the Gilas Pilipinas Roster for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.

One final appeal for Andray Blatche
According to reports, the Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee or IAGOC will still not allow Andray Blatche to play in the 2014 Asian Games even with the help of FIBA.
The IAGOC will strictly enforce the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) rule stating that naturalized players should have at least 3 years residency.
THE Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) will make a final appeal this week as they have a meeting in Incheon with the organizers. If the appeal is not successful, SBP will make a request for Marcus Douthit to replace Blatche in the line-up.

Both Marcus Douthit and Andray Blatche are going to Spain for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup but only 1 will be in the 12-man line-up for Gilas Pilipinas since FIBA allows only 1 naturalized player per tournament.
Who do you think should play in the FIBA World Cup, Douthit or Blatche?

PBA adjusts PBA Schedule for Gilas Pilipinas
After a meeting between Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes and the Philippine Basketball Association, the PBA Board of Governors agreed to compress the PBA 39th Season which now ends July 15 by shortening the PBA Commissioners Cup and Governors Cup Finals to a best-of-5 series and also moving the opening of the PBA 40th Season to October 19 after the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea which starts September 19.
This gives Chot Reyes 45 days to prepare with a complete team for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain which starts August 30 and the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea. But practices start every Monday after the current PBA Philippine Cup.
Here’s a tweet by Coach Chot Reyes (@coachot) thanking the PBA:
