Because he’s naturalized filipino, not pure. Notice the 5 players in the picture? They’re all pure 100% of their respective race.
salamat sa reply, ngayon alam ko na
It’s not true, naturalized players can be part of the Mythical Five. Anyway, Jordan is the real CHAMPS, China loves home cooking.
wang zhizhi ….zzzz old.
Ano?! Ok lng yan Sir marcus, We basketball fanatics of the Philippines know you should be on the TOP 5. Kawamura? come on, He was handcuffed by our guards..pag sa elite teams ala sya, dapat c Rasheim Wright. pero prng lmlabas hndi pede ang naturalized s selection.
kawamura is like kobe. he has the guts to shoot in the defender’s face. and he’s pure japanese.
douthit was not nominated in the top 5 because he should be playing for team America. But to Americas standards, he is no qualified to play for them thats why he chose Philippines as his backwater station to somehow garner fame and perhaps bragging rights. thats why he is not included in the top 5.
douthit should be there and not haddadi.
i would like to congratulate our very own smart gilas team for a hard fought tournament. they really gave their 110% there but still we fell short.
what the samahang basketbol ng pilipinas have done for our national team is great. it is commnedable in all aspects. congratulations….
still, i personally believe that we have won the tournament if we have the right tools (players). no offense to our players. hats off to them for their effort. but, basketball is a game for big people.
jordan exposed our weakness. mismatched ang mga guards natin in terms of height.
we should compel them to render service for the sake of our country. kilala naman natin mga kalaban natin, bakit pa tayo magpapadala ng players na mismatched.
i agree… but remove douthit. he is not filipino
I don’t understand why alot of Filipinos think the 80’s and the 90’s players were a better talent. They were good only because 90% of the basketball teams in Asia were BOPOLS. Now that these countries have learnt how to play great basketball we blame our new talents for not being in their class. Blame the early basketball years of the Philippines for being so complacent, even our sports commentators has not made improvements speaking in English. I know many Filipinos will say we should be proud and contented that our sports commentators’ English proficiency are better than any sports commentators or sports analyst in Asia, comparing to the way other Asian nations broadcast the event in English. Actually, that has been the long problem of the Filipinos, we tend to be contented because we had the 1st international airport, number 1 in rice and sugar production and etc., next thing we know, we are not even in the same class as the other countries what we used to call BOPOLS, because they got better and it was because they were never complacent. Some open-minded Filipinos would say “mayabang kasi mga pinoy,” and others would retaliate saying “paran hindi ka pinoy kung magsalita.” Well, what is wrong in telling the truth???
A BETTER SPORTS PROGRAM AND A BETTER ATTITUDE IS WHAT WE ALL NEED.
LOOK AT THE STATISTICS IN FREE THROWS 70 80 90 98% PERCENT SHOOTING TRY TO SEARCH IT IN YOU TUBE
The Free Throws is just one statistic, not the whole aspect of the game, same in the NBA, it’s lower compare to the 80’s because players tend to be more tired making free throws due to the game got tougher and faster.
i agree… but remove douthit. we can survive and make it through the FIBA ASIA if we send the best team that Philippines has. problema lang kasi yung ibang teams ayaw pahiram yung players at yung government natin walang pera pang sponsor para sa development ng Philippine team. well no need to explain further. its explanatory why we can never be good in internation basketball even if we have the talent to do so.
PERO PARE AMININ NYO DIN FREE THROW NAG PAPATALO SA SMART TEAM DIBA TSAKA 3 POINT SHOOTING 1990 80% 3 PTS SHOOTIN NILA NOON

well said… Were all hoping sana mangyari to…
yah MVP have the pure heart to help philippines basketball.. but PBA makasarili pera lng mahalaga kaya di manalo sa international competition ang philippines.. hoping someday we can enter olympics and world championship in basketball through the effort of MVP..
TAMA KA AGREE AKO DYAN NA ANG PBA NOW AY MUKANG PERA NOON MALIIT LANG SWELDO NG PLAYERS ANG HANGARIN NG PLAYER NOON MAKASAMA SA MAPIPILI SA RP TEAM KAHIT SECOND TEAM LANG NGA OK NA DATI KASE HINDI INIINTIDI YUNG SWELDO. NA SUSPINDE PA NGA C NA JAWO NOON FOR LIFE DAHIL SA BASKETBALL LANG NAKULONG CLA KASE. ANG MAHALAGA NOON MANALO HINDI YUNG PERA NGAYON KSE SWELDO MAHALAGA KYA NGA MAGANDA NA C JAWO ANG MAG COACH KSE MUMURAHIN NYA YUNG TANGATANGANG PLAYER FREE THROW LANG D PA M SHOOT MAG PIKO NLANG KAYO

excuse me,c moon naturalized yan pati ang isang player ng jordan
Japan’s KAWAMURA mytical?!?! WTF.. is this a Samurai sword fighting event!!!
he is like kobe! he looksa like a samurai though. scary.
watever you have said… naiyak ako nung matalo gilas… lalo na nung umiyak si casio… sobrang lungkot… proud of the gilas team….so proud…
me too… except for douthit. i see his expression and his lack for zeal whenever the Lupang Hinirang plays. well, he is not filipino anyway. kudos to Gilas
bopols ba kamo? walang mas bopols kundi yung bopols gilas team nyo! manahimik na lang kayo dito sa pinas at mag pba na lang, tutal dun lang naman kayo umaarteng magaling! go go go, Bopols Gilas!
mag train tayo ng players na commited maglaro pra sa pinas, mix ang amateur and the so called pba players.arg….ang yabang ng mga player sa pba feeling nba…play for our country not for your self interest…hats down to smart gilas
Tama ka Sharap! poor recriutment PBA bsta 6’5 pwede kna center other counties guard position lang yan. Wala inovation PBA coaches pti players. Kung wala tyo import kulelat tayo. Yung size kinuha png Barangay or kalye laro. Mas magaling pa Japan,Korea,Taipe,Lebannon. Sa Fiba ranking kulelat din png 43. -How come no.1 baketball sa Pilipinas?
I can’t beleive what Mr. Yeng Guiao just said in AKTV news, He said that the main reason the smart gilas team reached the semifinals was because of the professional players pointing out Ranidel, Kelly, Alapag, Taulava.. C’mon he had the chance as the coach of the ill-fated Powerade team that finished 9th overall, All PBA line up, He also was trying to say that if Marcus Douthit was with them things could be different, He was trying to vindicate himself. Do you agree with this guy?, kaya cgro wala naabot un Powerade ksi ganito ang mentality ng coach nila, clouded. He handpicked the players, wla din ngyari tas titirahin nya un mas mas ok n result ngaun. He was right to some 1. The best players of the country are in PBA but these players underperforms in international basketball eh diba sya ang tinaguriang master motivator, that’s why Toroman selected from the amateur ranks that are not yet exposed to entertainment only basketball. 2. Douthit was a force to reckon with. why didn’t he propose to add a naturalized player in his line up back then? He applauded Ranidel for performing well in Wuhan but did he use Ranidel in the games the powerade played? He was amazed and proud to show his players showboating plays in FIBA. Ang mga ganitong mentality ang nka2pagpababa ng basketball dito s PINAS. bagay tlga sya s PBA (entertainment only basketball, kumbga s wrestling, PBA is to WWE and FIBA eto un UFC)
hahaha kawawang guiao
