Why Chot Reyes should be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?
We all have been watching and reading comments by many so called experts calling on the resignation of Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Chot Reyes.
We would like to hear the side of others who want to retain Chot Reyes as Gilas Pilipinas Coach. Why should he be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?
A comment that we read is the experience by Chot Reyes in both the FIBA World Cup and Asian Games will be a great help in future tournaments as long as he learned something from it. Another issue is if we will have a new Head Coach, the players will need to learn a new system again and we do not know if that system will work against our opponents in Asia and the World.

Maybe we should have a coach who’s long in patience. Not one that throws a tantrum when the team lose. Then when all is said in public, when one needs the services of the player, the coach needs to save face and say its for the discipline kuno! Well, hope you’ll find and better coach.
Coach Chot has already served the country well,we appreciate all your sacrifices, but now its time to move on,do the honourable thing – pass the baton.
I only know little about basketball, it was not my interest. But when Gilas was playing, I turned so excited watching them. I don’t know how they were coached or what should have been the plan to win the game. What’s important to me is, appreciate all your hard work. You did your best, Look at these men they strived a lot! A coach to me, always motivate and do not give up for the team. The best to decide whether Chot Reyes should be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach, are the Gilas Players and the basketball committee. I hope for the best to come for Gilas Pilipinas.
The Gilas program is not a 1-hit wonder program… It aims to put the Philippines back to the basketball map in the world. Since its a program, its not a perfect one and it has flaws, that is why we need to stick it together. We dont need to replace a certain part (coach) if we somewhat failed on its first attempt or year…just like the Miami Heat. The problems with some of us is that we arevnot contented with their showing and finds fault on it, instead of continuously supporting them…. Setting aside politics, coach can only assure us that the team will improve from this experience, remember the forecast of the team heading to fiba world cup… We will be lucky to go home with just 1 win…which they have done…we ourselves doubted them before they showed us that they can compete with the top teams arg, puerto rico etc. but they proved us all wrong.
Changing the coach may entail a reset on the whole program or majority of it. We should let him stay for awhile and see if we can improve on the showings the next time. Nobody can say we should replace the coach aside from the players and the management. Its their job not ours, we can either critic or support them for this…
2. Isipin mo nyo na lang….may head ka na may magagaling na tao pero sumasablay ang buong team? di ba problema sa manager yun? it applies to basketball…..
3. Change the coach….if it still fails, then look for another approach…simple as that.
go coach
