Why Chot Reyes should be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?

Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes

We all have been watching and reading comments by many so called experts calling on the resignation of Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Chot Reyes.

We would like to hear the side of others who want to retain Chot Reyes as Gilas Pilipinas Coach. Why should he be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?

A comment that we read is the experience by Chot Reyes in both the FIBA World Cup and Asian Games will be a great help in future tournaments as long as he learned something from it. Another issue is if we will have a new Head Coach, the players will need to learn a new system again and we do not know if that system will work against our opponents in Asia and the World.

Retain Coach Chot!!!! This is still a learning process for all of us..Now, we know that in ASIAN Games may 3yrs residency requirements. I still trust coach chot. Nasira lang talaga lahat ng preparations nila pero I’ll give him this one and trust him again on the next challenges. Next goal, Olympics. Naka rating nga sa World Cup, so anything is possible..

it isn’t learning process.. he should had leArning process to himself, not to blame other players, like what he dd in asian game.. he dId blamed and suspended marcus in the nxt GAME after losing iran, he should have game plan in crucial or end game. which apparently he didnt learned IT, in FIBA INTERNATIONAL,,, WHY IS IT AZKALS GOT NEW COACH??

I think that coach chot needs another chance to prove his strategy and apply his learning from the inter games that gilas lose Pero kung walang pagbabago sa statistics/result per game eh kailangan na sxang palitan …

Yes we need to thank coach chot for the things he’s done for gilas but watching the team’s performance in the asian games, chot has never really learned from fiba world cup. What breaks my heart most was what he did in the game against Kaz…to shoot at his own goal..nakakahiya, nakaka-awa, nakakababa ng pagtingin sa sarili.. So, for me, it’s time we try a new coach-a coach who is humble, hindi mayabang..For the gilas players, i salute them all. They gave all their best.

even US had its own share of heartaches before.

As a tactician, I believe he has all the right credentials to be the coach
however, he needs to improve the emotional aspect of his coaching.

when tim cone had problems with James Mays, he benched the guy but never blamed the guy in public. from his words “We keep it in the family” and that is how a coach should react.

if you were in Marcus’ position, how would you feel after bringing your team to FIBA then suddenly be replaced and then brought back again because Blatche was ineligible? how would you also feel if you were singled out and blamed for a loss that was a “sure” win?

that aspect of your coaching is a joke. your coaching people, not robots.
just like when you cried when you won the silver, your players, even though they’re tough athletes, have emotions.

your management of the program is satisfactory because you brought the team to the international stage. however, you really need to learn how you manage your people.

remember, if you can blame marcus for 1 loss, the other players on your team are also thinking you will do the same to them in the future.

a soldier will always be willing to fight in the battle field for their general. but, if they get the impression that you will tie their hands and offer them as a sacrifice in the face of defeat just to save your own face,
then good luck winning a battle without soldiers.

Kelangan na siguro magpalit or magadjust big time sa system ng gilas. Kinatakutan tayo sa asia kahit papano kaya syempre iscout nila laro at sistema ng team. Well scouted na ang gilas. Sana makaadjust tayo sa fact na un. Whoever gilas’ coach is….

Chot reyes is no good coach to me,pero syempre hindi sya magiging head coach kung di nya alam ginagawa nya. May attitude problem ngalang coach chot. At masyadong negative thinker.

I train nyo si fajardo yung tipong magbabago yung laro nya to the advance level.

    • Mhega Rhexx says:
