Why Chot Reyes should be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?
We all have been watching and reading comments by many so called experts calling on the resignation of Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Chot Reyes.
We would like to hear the side of others who want to retain Chot Reyes as Gilas Pilipinas Coach. Why should he be retained as Gilas Pilipinas Coach?
A comment that we read is the experience by Chot Reyes in both the FIBA World Cup and Asian Games will be a great help in future tournaments as long as he learned something from it. Another issue is if we will have a new Head Coach, the players will need to learn a new system again and we do not know if that system will work against our opponents in Asia and the World.

I am also very disappointed sa mga kamalian at kakulangan ni Chot pero gaya ng sinabi nila Yeng at Cone si Chot parin ang best option natin simply because sa ngayon sya lang ang best option na available na makakatutok sa program.
Yeng, Cone, Jhong or any coach na may seperate na team na iniintindi wont be able to give as much time and focus as Chot would be able to give to the program.
TAB BALDWIN is a capable and available foreign coach with proven international experience.
Wala pong assurance na tayoy mananalo pag pinalitan c coach chot. coach chot is a very smart coach suporta lng ang kulang jan! ang problema kasi sa karamihan natin dito sa pinas atat na atat tayong manalo, pagnakatikim ng talo batikos agad and that affects the mindset of the team hindi dapat ganyan.Dapat suportahan din natin c coach not just the gilas players..basta ako proud ako ky coach chot kasi every time i see him coaching i saw the #PUSO.coach keep up the good work!
just replace chot we have 12 players in a team but he only uses 7.these 7 players are his favorites…….
I think Hindi sya dapat i-retain. I’ve watched Gilas Pilipinas games in FIBA and Asian games it seems that pag nakakahabol na kalaban sa lamang ng Gilas e Hindi pa sya nagttime out para magawan ng paraan ang maluwag na depensa ng Gilas. This is just my opinion. Thanks
Just a thought 🙂
WOW ha, para na namang si Chiquito ha…”Japeth, this is you. Junmar, that is you.”
Are we rewarding Chot Reyes (including his son Josh) for arrogance despite his proven mediocrity? We never won any relevant titles under him. Hype mostly by MVP media, riding on the Filipino fans passion claiming close-call losses are ‘moral victories’ are good enough for us all.
If he truly values the Gilas program, he should be man enough to RESIGN NOW!
don’t blame coach chot for all that loss we can join the 2014 world cup because of coach chot give our national coach another chance
Chot Reyes had done enough, I think it’s time for the RP to have a new coach. We’ve already witnessed hes ups and downs but it seems like what happened in fiba asia and world was not all about the system, its all about the players, yes, it is because of our players determination to win that dictates the tempo of our games but in terms of Chot’s coaching capability, its a big question mark. He still had the PBA coaching style there are games wherein he only used 7 man rotation which is a no no for an international tournament, that alone explain his inability to handle a team that’s loaded with talent. As a leader you he should learn to trust all his players especially he’s the one who selecte these people considering that there are lots of plyers in PBA who are more reliable aside the these group.
Why not try Norman Black? He’s been exposed with fiba rules for so many years and we already witnessed how great he was in UAAP a league that is aquiring fiba rules. In terms of man rotation, we all know that giving chances to all he’s players is not an issue, his efficiency in selecting the right players to fill each position and giving roles to each member is very much organized. Motivating people is his especialty which is vital on a team thats loaded with talent so I would suggest that MVP give him a chance.
