  2. To all gilas bashers.. Tigilan na pag down sa team phl, they did the’re best talagang may halong malas lang in the end.. Reaching the semis is already an accomplishment considering the competition ngayon compared to the 70s, 80s and 90s.. When NCC won the 1985 ABC may 2 naturalized americans tayo nun kaya na maximize ang skills nila samboy, allan, hector, etc kasi hindi sila kumukuha sa gunners and china, korea. If not for the americans baka nahrapan din tayo manalo dun. Still nasa record books yun na tayo Asian champions that time. I really hope the gilas program continues, dagdag bawas lang ng ilang players..

  4. Rist says:

I think we need to hire/naturalize 1 more center. Other national teams already know what to do when playing with us. Just remove Marcus Douthit and the paint is clear. That’s what Iran did on the last Jones cup. When Marcus was removed from the paint, their big men are unstoppable.

This is also what Korea did.

Our guys are talented, but talent is not enough when the opportunities are being blocked and taken by much taller guys.

    Our game is very predictable.

Sometimes I think they (Jordan and Iran) just let the Philippines win during the prelims or 1st round so that they will have an easier foe on the semis. Not only on Fiba but also on other tournaments.

Very good tactics.

Worse, Toroman already knew this from the start and is just ignoring or pretending and just kept doing his job to keep the nation’s spirit up especially the fanatics.

  5. Phil Jackson says:

You guys are all geniuses! Let the guy who pays for this sh!t deal with it. Who the f*ck are you to make lousy lineups, when you’re not the guy who’s financing all this fiasco. I suggest you calm the f*ck down and watch and wait what’s going to happen in the next couple of months.

If you think you’re better that them, by all means, suit up and play or join the coaching staff.

  6. Redmanizers says:

Hay naku! Maski sino ilagay nyo dyan .d n magchachampion pinas.

(though i admired gilas’ effort and determination)

  7. greedyhater says:

The truth is only our naturalized player plays good in our team. It is miracle the our team reached semis and our opponents like japan, and Taiwan doesn’t really play well during there games between Philippines. Our defense is good but the offense suck except for Douthit. We luck composure and easily gets nervous during close fights which are like amateurs. They should be like pacquiao, has the heart to win and always believe in God.
Also the team captain doesn’t really help team during crisis. He should prove himself in a professional league in oder for him be one of best player in country and deserving to be in a Philippine team.

malakas ang line-up na’to, pwede ipatry-out c Bal David, his a pure shooter and slasher too. He could be a replacement for yap or baguio…

  10. frank says:

I agree. I think its time for us to focus our resources in sports where we can have a better chance to be # 1 in the Olympics. Boxing, Taekwondo. The sport of basketball is a Height and Talent game. The only way for the PH to play in the Olympics is to naturalized active NBA Players if that is possible. Anyway, congrats to the Gilas team for placing 4th. Bitin parin.
