the philippine national basketball team should still be powered mainly by professional basketball players from the pba (or nba, nba d-league or US ncaa division 1 players), not amateur college standouts who are less likely to stand or (pardon me) do not stand a chance against taller and powerful teams from around the world. phil team is mentored by a brilliant coach tab and still has in its line up the promising potentials of our big men fajardo/slaughter/blatche and prolific parks, paras and other fil-foreign teen prospects. i agree with the good alaska owner uytengsu who said that the pba teams should lend two (2) players from their teams, ready for future international tournaments. our phil team might have lost the games, but we haven’t lost our hope and our hearts; and that the phil team should STAND again and realize that there is always that bright hope, if the pba teams are willing to sacrifice and lend their top 2 best players – all for the love of country and basketball glory and pride!
