Next FIBA World Cup to be held in Doha, Qatar
The 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in Doha, Qatar. It will be back to one host and the 1st time the FIBA World Cup will be held in the Middle East.
The passing of the ball from the current host Philippines to the next host Qatar was held at halftime of the FIBA World Cup Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena led by Mr. Manuel V Pangilinan, Chair of the Philippines Local Organizing Committee, FIBA President Hamane Niang, Mr Mohammed Saad Al Meghaiseeb, President of the Qatar Basketball Federation and Sheikha Asma Al Thani, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Qatar Olympic Committee.
