Gilas Pilipinas: Blatche, Norwood, Lee headline FIBA World Cup Final 12
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas have released the FIBA World Cup final 12 roster of the Gilas Pilipinas men’s national team on Sunday.
Headlining the 12-man line-up are five veterans of the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain: Andray Blatche, Japeth Aguilar, Paul Lee, June Mar Fajardo, and Gabe Norwood.
Completing the roster are Troy Rosario, Raymond Almazan, Roger Pogoy, Mark Barroca, Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, and Robert Bolick.
The same roster was played during the second exhibition match of Gilas against the Adelaide 36ers which the Australian club won this time, 85-75.
Andray Blatche had 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists while Ravena, in his first official game back from an 18-month suspension, delivered 11 points in 17 minutes.
Gilas will fly to China later in the week.
The Philippines is in Group D of the World Cup along with Serbia, Italy, and Angola. Only two of the four squads will advance to the second round.
