Gilas Pilipinas beat iECO Green Warriors in tune-up game
Gilas Pilipinas defeated iECO Green Warriors, 99-82 in their 1st and only tune-up game last Sunday, September 9 at the Meralco Gym before the start of the 2nd round of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
The iECO Green Warriors is composed of PBA D-League players and is coached by Ariel Vanguardia and they are set to represent Philippines in the Asia League Terrific 12 in Macau from September 18-23. They are reinforced by Fil-Am Joshua Munzon and Avery Scharer.
Gilas players who played in this exhibition game were Japeth Aguilar, Gabe Norwood, Paul Lee, Asi Taulava, Beau Belga, Raymond Almazan, Allein Maliksi, Ian Sangalang, Alex Cabagnot, JP Erram, Scottie Thompson, Stanley Pringle and Marcio Lassiter. Gilas played without Greg Slaughter with is still recovering from an ankle injury and Christian Standhardinger who had a stomach flu.

Team Philippines is set to leave for Iran tonight, September 10 in time for their game on Monday, September 13.
