Even though we know that Iran is a very tall and strong team, Gilas Pilipinas never backed down. Philippines lost the Gold but fought valiantly against the Champions.

With the absence of Marcus Douthit, Marc Pingris, Japeth Aguilar and Jayson William took turns attacking Hamed Haddadi in the paint.

7 – Gilas Pilipinas defeating Kazakhstan by 30
It was a perfect game by Gilas Pilipinas both in offense and defense and a very big win against Kazakhstan to enter the final four. Gary David had his best game of the tournament with 22 points.

6 – Crowd Support
From President Noynoy Aquino, VP Jejomar Binay to Manny Pacquiao, the crowd support at the Mall of Asia Arena was spectacular.

5 – Japeth Aguilar Dunks
There were a lot of dunks by Japeth Aguilar in this tournament and we cannot choose which one was the best, but we all know on each of Japeth Aguilar’s dunks, the crowd goes wild!

4 – Gabe Norwood blocking Kim Min -Goo to seal the game
This block not only sealed our trip to Spain but solidified Gabe Norwood’s status as one of the best defenders of this tournament.

3 – Jimmy Alapag hitting 2 big 3-pointers vs South Korea
Jimmy Alapag hit 2 big three-pointers in the last 2 minutes of the game to pull away from our long-time rival South Korea

2 – Gary, Gary, Gary! Chants
Gary David struggled with his shot in the preliminary round and at the start of the 2nd round, Gary David had a big surprise from the crowd when the whole Arena began chanting Gary, Gary, Gary!, it was a big boost for David who made his first 3-pointer during that game.
