Gilas Pilipinas U18 beat Thailand by 34
Gilas Pilipinas Youth defeated Thailand, 87-53 for their 2nd straight win in the 2024 FIBA U18 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Andy Gemao led Philippines again with 19 points and also with 2 assists and 3 steals.
Wilhelm “Cabs” Cabonilas with 17 points and 9 rebounds while Carl Vincent Manding scored 10 points for Gilas Pilipinas Under 18 Team. Marc Burgos and Joaquin Ludovice with 8 points each.
Gilas Pilipinas U18 coached by Josh Reyes led by just 3 points at the end of the 1st quarter, 22-19 but had a great 2nd quarter as they ended the half leading by 17 points, 46-29.
This is the second win by Philippines as they beat Malaysia in their opening game. Last game will be against Indonesia tomorrow at 4pm. Top 2 teams of this tournament will take the 2 slot for SEABA in the 2024 FIBA U18 Asia Cup to be held in Amman, Jordan.
