Gilas Pilipinas U18 defeated Malaysia, 97-71 in their 1st game in the 2024 FIBA U18 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Andy Gemao led Philippines with 17 points.
Cabs Cabonilas with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks. It was a close game in the 1st quarter as Gilas Pilipinas Youth coached by Josh Reyes led by just 2 points, 23-21 but they limited Malaysia to just 7 points in the 2nd quarter and led by 23 at halftime, 51-28.
