Gilas Pilipinas U18 beat Indonesia by 23, qualified for FIBA U18 Asia Cup
Gilas Pilipinas Youth swept the SEABA Qualifiers of the 2024 FIBA U18 Asia Cup as they defeated Indonesia, 87-64. With the win, Gilas Pilipinas U18 has qualified for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup to be held in Amman, Jordan this September.
Andy Gemao once again led Philippines with 29 points and also with 12 rebounds and 8 assist. Wilhelm “Cabs” Cabonilas with another solid performance with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. John Earl Medina scored 14 points while Charles Estaban contribued 10 points.
Gilas Pilipinas Under 18 team coached by Josh Reyes swept the tournament with a 3-0 record as they beat Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Indonesia has also qualified for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup as they finished 2nd place in the tournament.
