Gilas Pilipinas U17 lost to Puerto Rico by 45
Gilas Pilipinas Youth lost to Puerto Rico, 98-53 in their 3rd game in the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup last July 2 held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Gilas Pilipinas U17 had a great start leading by 8 at the end of the 1st quarter, 24-16 but struggled in the 2nd and 3rd quarters where they scored only 6 and 4 points respectively.
Joaquin Ludovice led Philippines with 13 points while Jordan Dill led Puerto Rico with 15 points. Kurt Velasquez with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists but committed 7 turnovers.
Gilas Pilipinas Youth shot only 26.8% from the three-point line (11 out of 41) and only 47.1% from the free throw line (8/17).
Gilas Pilipinas U17 coached by Josh Reyes ended the Group Phase with an 0-3 record.
