Gilas Pilipinas lost to Turkey by 11
Gilas Pilipinas lost to Turkey, 84-73 in a tune-up game in preparation for the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Exhibition game was held in Istanbul. Justin Brownlee led Philippines with 21 points.
June Mar Fajardo played well with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Dwight Ramos struggled with just 4 points but with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Philippines was not able to stop the 3-point shooting of Turkey as they made 14 three-point shots including some in the crucial 4th quarter.
Kai Sotto and Carl Tamayo contributed 7 points each. Tarik Biberovic led Turkey with 23 points.
Next game for Gilas Pilipinas is against Poland on June 29, their last exhibition match before the FIBA OQT which starts on July 2 in Latvia.
