Gilas Pilipinas defeated Iraq by 16 points
Christian Standhardinger scored 16 points (12 in the 3rd quarter) and also with 7 rebounds as Gilas Pilipinas defeated Iraq, 84-68 in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup in Beirut, Lebanon.

Gilas Pilipinas with just a 1-point lead at halftime, 32-31 but dominated the 3rd quarter led by Standhardinger and Terrence Romeo who finished with 17 points and 4 assists. Gilas scored 28 points in the 3rd quarter while limiting Iraq to just 9 points.
Carl Bryan Cruz played well with 11 markers and was 3/3 from the three-point line. Roger Pogoy with 9 points (2/3 from 3). Matthew Wright contributed 8 points while Gabe Norwood with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Kevin Galloway led Iraq with 23 points but just 8 points in the 2nd half.
Philippines now with a 2-0 record and will automatically enter the quarterfinals.
