Gilas Pilipinas comeback against Jordan falls short
Gilas Pilipinas lost to Jordan, 91-90 in the final game of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers held at the Philippine Arena. Justin Brownlee led Philippines with 41 points and 12 rebounds.
Biggest lead of Jordan was 25 points in the 1st half as they waxed hot from three but Justin Brownlee led the comeback of Gilas Pilipinas in the 2nd half but the team fell short as Scottie Thompson missed 2 free throws that could have given Philippines the lead and Bobby Ray Parks missed a shot a the buzzer as Gilas Pilipinas finished the FIBA Qualifiers 6th window with a 1-1 record.
Jamie Malonzo contributed 11 points while Thompson and Heading with 9 points each. Dar Tucker led Jordan with 22 points.
