Gilas Pilipinas Basketball

Gilas Pilipinas defeated Thailand, 93-61 in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers held last November 27, 2020 in Manama, Bahrain. Dwight Ramos led Philippines with 20 points (perfect from the field 5/5 from 2, 2/2 from 3 and 4/4 FTs) and also finished with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Juan Gomez de Liano and Justine Baltazar scored 12 points each for Gilas while Javi Gomez de Liano and Rey Suerte with 9 points each. Montien Wongsawangtham led Thailand with 17 points. Gilas Pilipinas with 23 assists led by Matt Nieto with 6 assists.

Philippines had a slow start and led by 2 points only at the end of the 1st quarter, 21-19 but scored 32 points in the 2nd quarter led by Juan Gomez de Liano and Dwight Ramos. Thailand to just 10 points in the 2nd period.

All players scored for Gilas, they will face Thailand again on November 30. Thailand will go up against Indonesia tomorrow.
