Gilas Pilipinas beat Latvia by 9
Gilas Pilipinas defeated host Latvia, 89-80 in their 1st game of the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Justin Brownlee led Philippines with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
Gilas Pilipinas had a great start ending the 1st quarter with 16 point lead, 32-16 after a buzzer beating 3 point shot by CJ Perez. Kai Sotto played well with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block. Dwight Ramos with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
June Mar Fajardo scored 11 points and also with 4 rebounds and 3 steals while Chris Newsome contributed 10 points. Great defense by Gilas Pilipinas.
