Gilas Pilipinas beat Kazakhstan by 37 even w/o Clarkson
Gilas Pilipinas won their 1st game in the 2018 Asian Games as they beat Kazakhstan, 96-59. Stanley Pringle led Philippines with 18 points.
Christian Standhardinger scored 15 points for Gilas while James Yap played well with 12 points. Paul Lee missed his 1st five three-point shots but made 3-straight in the 4th quarter and finished with 10 points.
Chris Tiu contributed 9 points while Gabe Norwood with 7. Beau Belga, JP Erram and Asi Taulava with 5 points each.
Gilas Pilipinas forced 22 turnovers while committing just 9 in the game. Philippines with 16 steals.
Philippines already claimed a quarterfinals slot with the win unless Kazakhstan beat China by more than 37 points and China beat Gilas.
