Canada beat Gilas Pilipinas by 13
July 15, 2017 – Gilas Pilipinas lost to Canada (3D Global Sports), 90-77 in their 1st game of the 2017 Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan. Kiefer Ravena led Gilas with 12 points and also with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Bobby Ray Parks Jr with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals while Carl Bryan Cruz with 10 points (2/5 from 3). Fil-German Christian Standhardinger made his Gilas debut with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Matthew Wright with 9 points also.
Garrett Williamson led Canada with 15 points. Import Mike Myers with just 7 points but grabbed 9 rebounds.
Philippines committed a total of 10 turnovers and gave up 26 fouls to a much taller Canada team.

With no inside presence, it’s evident how Gilas had to foul a lot to keep the maple leafs do it from the free throw instead. Paras playing a 3 or 4 is restricting his development when the last 3 years he has been playing a two.
Chot quit playing around w Paras. Either u play him or kick him out. 5 minutes of playing time ain’t gonna help Gilas.
Quit jerking him around.
