We just read the news from MB that Gilas Team is coming to NZ and the avid basketball players here in Wellington are wondering how we could promote you guys more here in Wellington in time for your game against the Shakers.
We do have a website we could promote this event for free and would like to drum up some interest among the various Filipino Communities around the region to ensure a big Filipino contingent on the day.

Hi, first of all I would like to congratulate you for qualifying for FIBA World Cup next year. For that matter, I would like to offer my services as translator/interpreter. I am a graduate of UP Diliman and I took up European Languages (French and Spanish). If ever you would need help/assistance with speaking with the locals, I am available to serve as an interpreter provided that my accommodation, travel expenses (airfare,visa), meals, and some allowance are answered by the team.

Congratulations to the Gilas Pilipinas for successfully recruiting and naturalizing Andray Blatche.
I’m curious though on why nothing was done with Nate Robinson who is 1/8 Filipino, who was also interested in playing for the team – did the coaching staff consider him at all?
I know that the team needs height but Nate doesn’t need naturalization and he is an explosive player that can win games by himself like what he does on a regular basis in the NBA.
Nate Robinson is a big help for smart gilas.
