Aguilar shines as Gilas destroys Thailand, 108-53 for 4th straight SEABA win
Japeth Aguilar had a perfect shooting night to help Gilas Pilipinas overcame a sloppy start and pull away from Thailand’s challenge, 108-53 in the 2017 SEABA Championships on Tuesday, May 16 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The 6-foot-9 Aguilar scored a Gilas tournament-high 23 points on an unblemished 10-of-10 shooting from the field, leading 72 bench points for the national team. He added five rebounds and two blocks. Calvin Abueva added 15 points and six assists while Andray Blatche and Terrence Romeo each tallied 11 points.

Gilas Pilipinas stayed undefeated in the 2017 SEABA Championships after a 106-51 win over Malaysia on Sunday night.
In that victory, no one from the national played more than 20 minutes, and everyone was able to score.
Center June Mar Fajardo says it is credit to the better chemistry the team has now compared to when Gilas 5.0 started training together a month ago, which allows them to complement each other.
Gilas stays unbeaten in SEABA after dominating Malaysia, 106-51
Gilas Pilipinas continued its unbeaten romp in the 2017 SEABA Championships in Manila, Philippines after a 106-51 trashing of Malaysia on Sunday, May 14 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Andray Blatche played his best game of the tournament so far, scoring 13 points while adding eight rebounds and five assists. Troy Rosario also had 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

Wei Long on Castro: ‘It is really good to play against the top point guards in Asia’
Singapore point guard Wong Wei Long had the opportunity to go up against the region’s top-level point guards when his country faced Gilas Pilipinas on Saturday night in the on-going 2017 SEABA Championships in Manila.
Wei Long went up against Jayson Castro, a two-time FIBA Asia Championship all-star five member, and PBA scoring champion Terrence Romeo.
Ex-Gilas forward Pingris happy to see national team’s continuous improvement
Noise quickly circulated from the crowd watching the Gilas Pilipinas-Singapore game last Saturday night in the 2017 SEABA Championships when many-time national team member Marc Pingris was shown on the big screen late in the fourth quarter of what was already a lopsided affair.
Gilas won the match, 113-66 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament standings.

Gilas Pilipinas picked up their second straight win in the 2017 SEABA Championships in Manila after a dominant 113-66 victory over Singapore Saturday, May 13 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.
Five players finished in double-digits for Gilas which improved to 2-0 early in the tournament, tying Indonesia and Thailand on top of the team standings.
Calvin Abueva once again led the way for the Philippines, scoring 16 points on 50 percent shooting. He also had five rebounds and three assists.
