Gilas Pilipinas U17 lost to Australia by 62, finish last in the FIBA U17 World Cup
Gilas Pilipinas Youth lost to Australia, 115-53 in the classification phase of the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Edryn Morales led Philippines with 17 points along with 9 rebounds while Australia was led by Dash Daniels with 28 points. Joaquin Ludovice scored 10 points and no other Gilas Pilipinas under 17 player scored in double digits.
Gilas Pilipinas Youth struggled in making threes, shooting only 14.7% (5 out of 34) and with only 10 assists as a team and also committed 24 turnovers. Australia shot 74.4% from the field, making 32 out of 43 shots and with 37 team assists.
Gilas Pilipinas U17 coached by Josh Reyes lost all of their games (0-6) by big margins and finished last place (16th place) in the tournament. Australia ended their campaign in 15th place.
