Gilas Pilipinas lost first tune-up game against Jordan
Gilas Pilipinas lost to Jordan, 98-92 in their 1st tune-up game in preparation for the 5th window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Christian Standhardinger led Philippines with 21 points.
Marcio Lassiter scored 14 points while returning Gilas Jayson Castro with 13. Beau Belga, Troy Rosario and Matthew Wright with 7 points each.
Zaid Abbas led Jordan with 24 points. Jordan and Gilas Pilipinas will have another tune-up game on Wednesday, November 21 at the Meralco Gym.
Coach Yeng Guiao did not use Ginebra players LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar, Greg Slaughter and Scottie Thompson since they only practiced with the team recently due to the PBA Semifinals while Ian Sangalang and Paul Lee was exempted since they will be playing in the PBA Finals.
For the young players, Ricci Rivero scored 4 points but Kai Sotto missed the game due to exam week in Ateneo High School.
